West Brom rejects QPR's second bid for Peter Odemwingie
West Brom have turned down an improved offer from QPR for striker Peter Odemwingie.
QPR are keen to bring the striker to Loftus Road to boost their chances of beating the drop, but had a £2million offer turned down at the start of the month and their improved offer has also been rejected.
“QPR have made a second, improved offer for Peter, which we have turned down,” West Brom’s sporting and technical director Richard Garlick said in a statement.
Despite West Brom’s insistence that the striker is not for sale, Odemwingie handed in a transfer request last week, which was rejected out of hand by the club.
Odemwingie took to Twitter at the weekend to vent his frustration at the situation, but he landed himself in trouble with the Baggies set to launch disciplinary action against the 31-year-old.
He later back-tracked, tweeting: “Looked through my tweets. Deleted some. Was too much. Only excuses – home alone, dark, son and wife in hospital, frustrated.”
