Riot in Abuja over ban of mini buses [green buses] in City center

The nation’s capital Abuja is currently witnessing a huge pandemonium following the restriction of mini buses from entering the city center by FCT administration.

Demonstration is ongoing at Nyanya axis of FCT with detachment of heavily armed anti riot policemen battling it out to control the situation. Such incidents are also being reported in other areas.

Heavy traffic has been witnessed in all the three major entry points into the city center; Nyanya, Lugbe and Kubwa axis.

Investigation shows that commuters in their thousands are stranded in many bus stops in FCT as the bus owners have vehemently refused price reduction notwithstanding the short distance they are expected to cover due to the restrictions.
