EFCC arraigns freed pension thief, John Yakubu Yusuf for not declaring asset

The Economic and Financials Crimes Commission, Wednesday morning, arraigned John Yakubu Yusuf, a former Assistant Director of the Police Pension Board, before an Abuja Court.

Mr. Yusuf was arraigned on a fresh charge of alleged failure to declare his asset while in office.

The commission re-arrested Mr. Yusuf after he was convicted in controversial circumstances for two years and released after paying a fine of N750,000.

The former director had pleaded guilty to stealing N2 billion of the N27billion he was being prosecuted by the EFCC for. 

The mild punishment meted to Mr. Yusuf has been wildly condemned by Nigerians.
