Chelsea, Swansea & Reading battles to sign Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas

Chelsea and Reading sent representatives to to watch Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas during his side's 2-0 defeat to Espanyol.

Swansea are also interested in the 25-year-old forward who has grown up at the Galician club - with English teams prepared to test Celta's resolve despite the player stating he is keen remain with the side battling relegation in La Liga until at least the summer.

Like all players in Spain he has his price with a release clause that stands at around €10 million.

At 5'9" people may expect him to be another David Silva or Juan Mata - but what clubs will be getting is a player more in the mould of David Villa.

Whether Premier League money will lure him in January - it is no secret La Liga clubs need funds - or be forced to wait until the summer, Aspas has been tipped as the next bargain buy to come from Spain.
