Arsene Wenger keen on Edinson Cavani and Wilfried Zaha

Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in Napoli’s Edinson Cavani but he is aware he would have to spend a lot of money in order to land the player.

Wenger has resisted the urge to spend money while there has been uncertainty surrounding Theo Walcott’s future at the Emirates.

Fans have grown tired of Wenger’s reluctance to splash the cash but the Frenchman knows he needs to strengthen and has confirmed his interest in Cavani.

“Cavani is a player that I like,” Wenger confessed.

“Will he cost a lot of money? That’s for sure. Nobody would deny that. Our banker lives just next to me at the moment and he is ready if we find the right player.”

Cavani may be out of reach for the time being but Wenger is also interested in bringing Wilfried Zaha to the Emirates.

Manchester United were believed to be leading the race for the Crystal Palace youngster but they have not made a move for him, leaving the way clear for Arsenal.

“We are looking at him, but at the moment we have not made any bid for him,” Wenger said of Zaha.

“I don’t know if Manchester United are in for him. Anyway, if you call any club for any player, they will tell you Man United, Milan, Real Madrid are as well in for him, but it is always difficult to know if it is true or not.”
