19-year-old girl Savannah Ramirez accidentally shot and killed her 22-year-old brother Manuel Ortiz while she posed for a Facebook photo with a gun on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2012.

Police say the deceased – 22-year-old Ortiz and his sister Ramirez had been drinking before they arrived back at the home they shared in Phoenix, Arizona, where the shooting took place.

It is uncertain who owns the gun, but Savannah will likely be charged with manslaughter – especially if tests confirm she had alcohol in her system.

Friends described Ortiz as a "kind, funny guy," who tried to pick people up when they were feeling low.
