46-year-old father-of-three died in front of his wife at Christmas party after dancing to Gangnam Style
A dad of three collapsed and died at his work Christmas party after dancing to chart smash Gangnam Style.
Eamonn Kilbride, 46, joined pals on stage to perform the fast-paced routine, made famous by Korean singer Psy. But he complained of feeling unwell and collapsed moments later in Darwen, Lancs.
His shattered widow told last night how he kissed her, said she was beautiful — then walked away and died.
IT worker Eamonn climbed on stage to perform the horse-riding dance routine at his work’s Christmas bash.
But he complained of feeling unwell soon afterwards and suddenly collapsed. It is believed he suffered a heart attack.
Wife Julie, who had been celebrating her 49th birthday, frantically began CPR until paramedics arrived — but Eamonn died later in hospital.
Tearful Julie said: “It was the first time he had gone to the work’s party and he was really looking forward to it.
“It was my birthday too that day and we were having a really good night.
“Eamonn had not complained of being ill and it was so sudden.
“He had just finished dancing to Gangnam Style with his pals on stage when he came back over to me. He kissed me and told me I was beautiful.
“He then said he was going to the toilet because he had a bit of chest pain. On the way there Eamonn saw his boss and was still laughing and joking with her.
“He then walked round the corner and collapsed.”
Julie — who was married to Eamonn for 23 years — added: “He was always the life of the party and loved dancing.” Irishman Eamonn worked for Thwaites Brewery in Blackburn, Lancs, for 16 years and was at Whitehall Country Club in Darwen when he fell ill on Saturday.
