Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele faces 6 weeks on sidelines

Andre Villas-Boas fears the hip injury sustained by Mousa Dembele while with Belgium may need surgery which could keep the influential midfielder out for up to six weeks.

Dembele suffered a recurrence of a niggling hip problem last month and has missed Tottenham's last four games.

The 25-year-old underwent a scan on Thursday to assess whether he would need an operation.

Spurs boss Villas-Boas said: 'This is something he had at Fulham. It's a pain that went away at Fulham after a few days. But it is still there.'

Villas-Boas said he had no concerns about playing Steven Caulker after the defender was charged by Serb police over the brawl that followed

England's Under 21 game in the country. The Portuguese did not wish to comment on the charges as legal proceedings are under way.
