Liverpool tables £15m bid for Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool have made the first move to sign Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge for £15million in January.

Anfield chiefs have told the Blues of their interest in Sturridge.

And boss Brendan Rodgers will try to seal a deal as early as possible to avoid a repeat of the summer fiasco when he failed to sign Clint Dempsey.

Chelsea want to bring in Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid at the turn of the year. And the sale of Sturridge would help offset around a third of the near-£48m fee required.

Kop boss Rodgers is also weighing up a move to re-sign winger Tom Ince, who is having an outstanding season with Blackpool.

The son of former Manchester United and Liverpool star Paul left Anfield for Bloomfield Road 18 months ago, after failing to crack a first-team place at Anfield.

Ince has also interested United, but Liverpool have been regular visitors to watch him in action.
