Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert gets one-match touchline ban

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has been handed a one-match touchline ban after admitting a Football Association charge.

Lambert was charged with being in breach of FA Rule E3, which relates to language and/or behaviour amounting to improper conduct following Villa’s defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

After accepting the charge, the Scot he has been fined £8,000 and will have to watch from the stands when Villa take on Arsenal on Saturday.

“Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted a breach of FA Rule E3,” a statement on the FA website read.

“It relates to language and/or behaviour amounting to improper conduct following his side’s game at Manchester City on 17 November 2012.

“Lambert accepted the standard penalty for the charge and will now serve a one-match touchline ban to commence with immediate effect.”
