Arsenal & Manchester United in race to sign £30m-rated Borrusia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze

Arsenal and Manchester United have been alerted after it was revealed that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze has a release clause of £30million.

The Germany international, 20, has excelled in the Champions League this season.

The clause is set to expire in July and a written offer needs to be submitted to the Bundesliga champions by April.

Gotze is a long-term Arsenal target who came through the youth system at Dortmund. The German international playmaker is wanted by a host of top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.

But Gotze agreed in March a deal to stay with the German champions until 2016. He has helped Dortmund win the Bundesliga title for the last two seasons.
