3 men arraigned for selling human parts in Ilorin, Kwara state

An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court on Thursday remanded three persons, Satuduro Woru, Sanni Lafia and Zakina Woru, in prison for allegedly selling human parts at N50,000.

The accused were arraigned before the court on a three-count of criminal conspiracy and being in possession of human head, contrary to the Penal Code.

The accused persons were alleged to have severed the head, wrist and male organ of an unidentified person on July 4 and sold them.

According to the charge sheet, the accused persons removed the parts from the corpse of an unidentified person lying in Kasiyo Stream in Baruteen Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The prosecutor, Nasiru Yusuf, told the court that on receipt of the information, detectives at Okuta Police Division visited the scene of the crime where the decomposed corpse was removed from the stream.

He said investigation revealed that the accused severed the parts and took them to Benin Republic where they were sold.

They pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to them.

The prosecutor objected to their bail and urged the court to remand them, pending the completion of investigation.
