Uniport Killings: 'Alleged' instigator arrested; ...traditional ruler & 12 suspects paraded!

The Nigeria Police has announced the arrest of the alleged instigator of the murder of four University of Port Harcourt students in Aluu community, Rivers State.

The suspect’s name was given as Coxson Lerebori Lucky, also known as, Bright.

Lucky was declared wanted after the four students, Ugonna Obuzor, 18; Lloyd Toku, 19; Tekena Elkanah, 20, and Chiadika Biringa, 20, were killed ten days ago.

The students were accused of stealing laptops and smartphones, an allegation which has been deemed untrue by the police authorities.

According to reports, the arrested suspect allegedly raised the false alarm which led to the mob action and eventual murder of the students.

21 people have so far been arrested and the IG of police has ordered an inquest into the alleged involvement of police men and have promised to bring to book any police officer found involved in the killing.
