President Goodluck Jonathan lied in Nigeria's 52nd Independence Anniversary broadcast?
- President Jonathan lied that Transparency International has endorsed and commended his administration’s war against corruption.
- Transparency International denies President Jonathan's anti-graft war claim
Speaking in a nationwide broadcast to mark this year’s independence anniversary yesterday, Jonathan said his administration made gains in the anti-graft war saying, “in its latest report Transparency International (TI) noted that Nigeria is the second most improved country in the effort to curb corruption.”
But the Premium Times said it contacted the TI which denied claim by Jonathan that its report placed the country as second most improved nation in the fight against corruption.
It said when contacted by the Premium Times, “The group replied promptly disowning Mr. Jonathan and saying it had no such report.
“Transparency International does not have a recent rating or report that places Nigeria as the second most improved country in the fight against corruption,” the group said in an email to Premium Times.
Jonathan said in his speech that “the fight against the scourge of corruption is a top priority of our Administration. We are fighting corruption in all facets of our economy, and we are succeeding. We have put an end to several decades of endemic corruption associated with fertilizer and tractor procurement and distribution. We have exposed decades of scam in the management of pensions and fuel subsidy, and ensured that the culprits are being brought to book.”
Please lets stop deceiving ourselves, there is nothing like eradication of corruption in the GEJ government when the man refused to declare his assets initially after all the people demanding for that knew his history of achievements before doing that especially when he was governor and after President Yaradua died, BUT WAIT... is it possible for a goat to stay with YAM for a day without eating it? No!! so a goat that ate yam cannot query Ram and sheep why they are aso eating yam or grass. Only God can help us out and one prayer we need is that All the people that has not made this country and the people in it to have rest of mind that God should eradicate them totally, where are we on fuel subsidy??? EVERYTHING IS ALREADY DIEING DOWN . People who are supposed to be in jail for defrauding this country are the ones ruling an commanding the leaders of this country and the leaders cannot tame them either BECAUSE THEY HAVE SKELETONS THAT they may revealed about their past dealings and records that may implicate the leaders. Please GOD Almighty help us ....and delivers us from EVIL AND WICKED MEN and WOMEN OF OUR LAND mismanaging our resources impoverishing other. May the judgement of God sit on them all amen
