Man arrested with fresh human parts in Ogun State

A suspected ritualist, Jimoh Olorunwa, has been arrested with fresh human parts.

Olorunwa was arrested in Ago-Iwoye, Ijebu North LGA of Ogun State with a human abdomen and other vital parts.

He was nabbed after he allegedly broke into a cemetery at Iyalaje area of Ago Iwoye in Ijebu East LGA excavating a grave and dismembering an unknown corpse buried in the cemetery.

Commissioner of Police, Ikhemefuna Okoye confirmed that Olorunwa was captured following a formal complaint lodged by the Christian committee chairman.

The Christian committee chairman had told the police that when he visited the cemetery on a routine check, he discovered that some graves had been broken and he suspected foul play by some ritualists.

Okoye said, "On receipt of the information, surveillance was mounted within the cemetery area and this led to the arrest of one of the ritualists at the cemetery with human flesh."

He added that the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned one Abore, of Odosinusi area of the town, who is currently at large, as an accomplice.

Olorunwa said that he was at the cemetery to appease the spirit of his dead mother, adding that it was his third trip before he was apprehended.

Olorunwa said, "I regret my action as I was pushed by the devil and the harsh economic situation in the state and in the country. I lost my job as a carpenter many months ago and I was lured into the business by a friend who is now on the run."
