"Lionel Messi is the best player on the planet" - Tito Vilanova

Lionel Messi has been hailed as the best player on the planet — by his Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova.

Argy Messi and Real Madrid rival Cristiano Ronaldo scored all the goals in Sunday’s 2-2 El Clasico thriller.

Messi, 25, has won FIFA’s World Player of the Year award three years running.

And ahead of voting for the 2012 trophy, Vilanova said: “We will never again see a player of Messi’s calibre.

“He is the best in the world by a big margin. We don’t know where his limits are.”
