Arsenal ends proud Champions League record with poor performance
Arsenal were booed off after surrendering their proud Champions League record.
Dutchmen Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Ibrahim Afellay netted in Schalke's 2-0 win.
And Gunners skipper Thomas Vermaelen said: “We are not creating enough chances to score goals.
"The results are not good for us at the moment. At times like this you have to stick together as a group and as a club.”
It was the first time the Gunners had lost a home group match in their six years at the Emirates and their first Euro home defeat since 2009.
