Rio Ferdinand slammed with 6-months driving ban for speeding 3 times in 5 weeks!

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has been handed a six month driving ban after he was caught speeding three times in five weeks on the same road.

The former England captain was snapped in his Jaguar XJ speeding through a 30mph zone as he drove to and from training.

The 33-year-old tried to beat a ban by pleading he needed his licence to take his two sons to school.

But the argument was rejected by Trafford magistrates in Greater Manchester and he was hit with a six-month ban.

Ferdinand was caught by a speed camera on the A56 in Manchester in February doing 38mph in a 30mph area.

He had been flashed for speeding at the same spot twice in January and already had three points on his licence.

Speeding charity Brake blasted the footballer for using his kids to try to beat a ban.

Spokesman Richard Coteau said: 'By repeatedly choosing to break speed limits he sends out a worrying and dangerous message.'
