Ondo State Governorship Election: ACN's Rotimi Akeredolu to establish Energy & Natural Resources Ministry if elected
Action Congress of Nigeria’s candidate for the October 20 Ondo State governorship election, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, has promised to establish the ministry of energy and natural resources if elected.
Akeredolu, according to a statement by the Director of Media, Publicity and Strategy of his campaign organisation, said this in Akure while receiving some professionals and leaders of the state who paid him a solidarity visit at Owo.
He said creating the energy ministry became imperative in order to develop the energy resources and human capital, particularly among the Ilajes, who are the natural owners of the crude from which Ondo State and indeed Nigeria has benefited so much.
He said, “Let me assure you that the Ilajes will not be left out in the ACN government as the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will cater for the people of the area.
“Opportunities in the oil and gas industrial sector shall be expanded in Ondo State by creating a conducive atmosphere and marketing the potential of the state within and outside the country.”
He said all the companies that would come to do energy business in the state would be asked to erect their main offices in Akure and Ilaje land and must give priority to indigenes in their employment list.
