Inter Milan lines up move for Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna

Inter Milan are lining up a move for Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna.

The Italian giants are watching developments closely after Sagna, 29, voiced his frustrations about Arsenal earlier this month.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is confident his fellow Frenchman will sign a new long-term deal - his current contract expires in 2014 and negotiations are due to start - but Inter have made discreet enquiries and will pounce if there is any chance of luring Sagna away from the Emirates.

Sagna, currently on his way back from a second broken leg within a year, voiced his annoyance at Arsenal selling their players, not winning trophies and that earned him a dressing down from Wenger.

But Arsenal are confident they can persuade Sagna to re-sign, even though his young understudy, Carl Jenkinson, has had an outstanding start to the campaign.

Arsenal have made re-negotiating contracts for Sagna and left-back Kieran Gibbs - who is also into the final two years of his deal - their number one priority.

They have hit deadlock with Theo Walcott, who is into the final year of his contract and has yet to sign an offer worth £75,000-a-week.
