Fiorentina seeks compensation from Dimitar Berbatov for transfer deadline day expenses incurred

Fiorentina sporting director, Daniele Prade, has revealed the club will ask Dimitar Berbatov's representative for money to pay for the travel expenses that were spent on his client in the closing days of the summer transfer market.

The former Manchester United striker incurred the wrath of the Tuscan club when, they claimed, he broke an agreement with them in order to consider an offer from Juventus before eventually staying in England to sign for Fulham.

The club is still raging over the incident which is set to continue as the club plan to seek compensation for the whole affair.

"We will ask his attorney for a refund for the tickets paid," Prade told Radio Blu.

The director then took the chance to lambast the player once again before hinting that in the January market La Viola might consider buying another forward.

"I'm glad he did not arrive in the end. It is better this way. In my 25 year career in this business, I have never seen anything like this," he continued.

"We will see if there is something in the market to our liking. We are not desperate for a new striker, for we have Luca Toni now who will be a real asset on and off the field.
