Antonio Valencia joins Manchester United's injury list?!

Antonio Valencia is reported to have joined the injured list at Manchester United after apparently leaving the club’s training ground on crutches.

Valencia injured his foot when winning the penalty that ultimately handed United a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday and medical staff at Carrington have been assessing the problem for r the last number of days.

His right foot is in a protective boot as a precaution and there are serious doubts over his fitness ahead of the Premier League clash with Tottenham on Saturday.

Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping Valencia’s injury does not require him to spend too much time out as he is already without a number of players.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are both recovering from surgery, while club captain Nemanja Vidic has been ruled out for two months due to a complications arising from the injury that forced him to miss the majority of last season.

The loss of Vidic leaves Ferguson with only two first-choice centre-halves in Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans and any further injuries to his defence could seriously harm their title challenge.
