Tottenham close in on £15m-rated Marseille striker Loic Remy

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is closing in on £15million-rated Marseille striker Loic Remy.

Spurs are restructuring their squad after Andre Villas-Boas arrived as Harry Redknapp's replacement earlier this summer and are in need of extra firepower.

Remy has been tracked by the north London club for some time now and Levy edging closer to landing one of Europe's hottest talents.

The France international, 25, scored 20 goals and had six assists from 42 appearances in all competitions last season and played in the Champions League, finishing second in Group F which was topped by Arsenal.

Tottenham scouts watched Remy come on as a second-half substitute on Sunday as Marseille beat Montpellier 1-0.
