Man arrested for having sex with goat in Abia

Abia Police Command has arrested a middle-aged man, Victor Onyemaechi of Amibo in the State's capital of Umuahia for allegedly having sex with a goat.

The man who was apprehended by surprised residents and neighbour was caught in the act after a tip-off by a child who reported the incident to an elder passer-by.

"I was shocked when he (the child) told me what was going on and I escorted him down to the place only to see this mad man doing this abominable thing", Okoro Nnaji said.

It wasn’t too long before an angry mob gathered round him in readiness to lynch him to death before Policemen from the local police post rescued him and whisked him away.

The Abia Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udevioti Ezekiel said the man will face psychological evaluation to determine if he's mentally fit to face trial.

"This is really unbelievable and not the same everyday crime or issue we face every day, we will determine the man's mental state of mind and if we see him as fit and stable to face trial, we will waste no time in doing so" he said.
