43-year-old bus driver arrested for raping 17-year-old food vendor!

The police have arraigned a 43-year-old commercial bus driver, Felix Adedayo, before a Yaba Magistrate Court, Lagos, for allegedly raping a teenage food vendor.

Adedayo was docked on a one-count charge of rape before Magistrate Patrick Adekomaya on Monday.

The prosecutor, Inspector Godwin Anyanwu, told the court that Adedayo raped the 17-year-old on July 30 at about 7:15 p.m. at the Oyingbo Motor Park.

Anyanwu said the defendant lured the girl under the guise of buying “Agidi” (corn mill) that was being hawked by the teenager.

The prosecutor told the court the offence contravened Section 258 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
