Samir Nasri banned by French FA for Euro 2012 rant at media

Samir Nasri has been banned for three matches by the French FA for his rant at the media during Euro 2012.

The Manchester City midfielder’s outburst followed France’s quarter-final defeat by Spain.

Meanwhile, Paris St Germain winger Jeremy Menez will sit out one game.

His punishment is for confrontations with both Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli and his own keeper Hugo Lloris during the last-eight clash.

Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa and Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila escaped with reprimands at today's hearing.

M'Vila's charge also stemmed from the Spain match, when he was substituted and did not shake hands with either his replacement Olivier Giroud or coach Laurent Blanc.

Ben Arfa was referred to the commission over an alleged argument with Blanc in the dressing room after the group-stage defeat to Sweden.
