Injured Arsenal playmaker Tomas Rosicky to miss start of season!

Tomas Rosicky will miss the start of Arsenal’s season after undergoing an Achilles operation.

The injury-jinxed Czech playmaker suffered the problem at Euro 2012 and is not expected to be out for more than a month.

But Rosicky, 31, who has missed the club’s tour of the Far East, will not be fit for the opening game of the Premier League season against Sunderland on August 18.

Gunners right-back Bacary Sagna will also miss the Black Cats clash.

The French international broke his leg against Norwich in May and, while he has made good progress, he will not be fit until a couple of weeks into the new campaign.

Arsenal’s biggest worry remains midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has been out for a year with knee and ankle problems.

And he could be sidelined until October.
