Vice President Namadi Sambo And Babangida 'Reportedly' Held "Closed-Door" Meeting In Minna

Vice-President Namadi Sambo Sunday held a closed door meeting with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his up-hill residence in Minna.

Sambo, who arrived Babangida’s residence at 12.30 p.m. went straight into the meeting, which lasted for over an hour, where they discussed issues bothering on the development and insecurity of the Northern region.

Though journalists were refused entry into the residence, sources close to those in the meeting revealed that the vice-president also used the visit to welcome Babangida back from his trip to Germany for medical treatment.

A security aide attached to the vice-president had told journalists that they were not invited to the meeting and were asked to leave the premises.

“This is a private meeting and it is not meant to be covered. It was meant to be a secret visit and we wonder how u people got to know, there must have been a security breach somewhere and we will find out and sort it out,” the aide was quoted as saying.

Our source also stated that the vice-president's visit was not unconnected to the north’s presidential position for 2015.
