Ondo State Government Sacked 131 Civil Servants!

Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko
The Ondo State Government has sacked 131 civil servants for violating public service rules and regulations, the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Dare Adebiyi said in Akure on Wednesday.

Adebiyi said the commission terminated the appointment of five officers for acts of indiscipline. He also said 126 civil servants were compulsorily retired while 49 were reprimanded for various offences such as fraud, forgery and gross misconduct.

However, 1,351 public servants have been promoted following their success in the 2011 promotion examinations. "Already, the affected workers from grade level seven to 17 have started receiving their promotion letters,” he said.

According to him, the promotion of the workers demonstrates the state government's commitment to the career advancement of civil servants.

Adebiyi, however, said the promotion exercise would not adversely affect the purse of the state government and urged the newly-promoted officers to be diligent in their duties.
