Adele Overtakes Amy Winehouse To Achieve Biggest-Selling Album Of The Century
Adele has told fans that just a few days after regaining her voice, she is speechless again.
The singer is celebrating after her album 21 became the biggest-selling album of the century. It toppled Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, which only landed the top spot three months ago.
The 23-year-old's feat is even more impressive given that the album, her second, was released just 10 months ago. The new record of 3.4 million sales was confirmed today by the Official Charts Company. Winehouse's album took five years to get to its present 3.3 million sales level, and its success was partly due to the further sales boost following her death in July.
