Rapper Dwight Myers "Heavy D" Dead At 44
Dwight Arrington Myers, known professionally as Heavy D, died on Tuesday afternoon.
The hip-hop legend, who is best known for his band Heavy D & the Boyz’s hit song Now That We Found Love, was pronounced dead at a Los Angeles hospital shortly after his arrival. Ironically, on Monday afternoon the musician paid homage to Smokin Joe Frazier on his Twitter.
“SMOKIN JOE FRAZIER..RIP..,” he tweeted. “Truly one of the best heavyweight champs that ever lived.. GODS SPEED,MR FRAZIER!” Hours later, he tweeted “BE INSPIRED.”
According to a report, a 911 call was placed from the rapper’s Beverly Hills home after he was found unconscious, but by the time the paramedics arrived he had regained consciousness. He was brought to a nearby hospital where he later died.
