Mother accidentally ran over and killed husband while their two young daughters sat in the back seat of the car

As reported by DailyMail,
A mother who accidentally ran over and killed her husband after an argument has been spared jail.

Suzanne Knox's two young daughters were in the car with her when she drove into her husband Anthony as she tried to pull up beside the pavement where he was sitting. He had gone to the local pub after the two had an argument and she had driven to find him. Mr Knox, a lab technician for an offshore company, died in hospital from internal injuries three hours after the accident close to the Norman Warrior pub in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

His wife told police she had not intended to harm him and only realised she had hit him when she got out of the car. A jury cleared her of causing death by dangerous driving by a majority verdict at Ipswich Crown Court last month, but she admitted a lesser charge of causing death by careless driving. She could have been jailed for up to five years, but she was yesterday shown mercy by judge Peter Thompson and given a nine-month sentence, suspended for two years.

Knox was also banned from driving for a year and ordered to do 100 hours' unpaid work and attend six sessions at a Women's Emotional Well Being programme.
