'Spartacus' star Andy Whitfield's last words

'I am like a butterfly with broken wings'

They are like lines from a Hollywood screenplay, but for Spartacus actor Andy Whitfield his poetic final words were a reality. The Welsh actor and model compared his life to a 'butterfly with broken wings' as he tried to explain his fate to his two young children. His grieving wife Vashti revealed the star's final words as he tried to comfort Jesse, six, and Indigo, four, on the last day of his life.

Tragically Andy passed away from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma on Sunday at just 39-years-old; 18 months after his cancer diagnosis. Vashti said he had told the children: 'I am going to go to sleep now as my body won't work any more. I am like a butterfly with broken wings.'I will always be with you and will always be watching over you. I love you.'
