The former Two And A Half Men star couldn’t say how long he had been sober for and revealed he ‘really didn’t know what happened’ as his increasingly erratic behaviour hit headlines earlier this year.

Speaking to Matt Lauer on The Today show he insisted he was teetotal and explained: ‘Absolutely. I don't really keep track of the time. It's been a while. Things are a lot calmer. It's a lot mellower.’ He said: 'I really don't know what happened.' He also admitted that his obsession with Tiger Blood was ‘silly’ and admitted: ‘I don't know, the Tiger Blood thing, it was so silly and people took it so seriously and I figured, alright, I'll continue to give the people what they want, you know.’

He added: ‘Looking back on it, I don't think I would trade it, but there are portions of it I would have amended a little bit.’ I said some stuff and then it caught such traction globally and instantly that I couldn't really put out the fire. I had to keep fuelling it.' And explained his wacky statements that quickly turned into catchphrases he said: ‘I said some stuff and then it caught such traction globally and instantly that I couldn't really put out the fire. From one moment to the next, I didn't know what was going to happen. It was pretty exciting.’ As well as his wild rants on his own broadcasts 'Sheen's corner' Charlie even took to the stage to bring his 'Fastballs' and 'Winning' message to the masses.

But now the actor has admitted that he is now enjoying spending time with his five children. 'That's where the life is, you know, it is in those quiet moments,' he said. 'It is not the giant TV deal or the big party or the award or whatever; it's the memory of your child's smile at the end of the day that sort of brings that one lonesome tear.'
