Lukas Podolski set to take Robin van Persie's No 10 shirt
The £11million summer signing from Cologne has been left off Arsenal’s list of squad numbers for next season.
Van Persie is desperate to leave the Emirates but retained his number 10 in manager Arsene Wenger’s initial plans for the new campaign.
Podolski’s number is ‘yet to be confirmed’ by the club, but Van Persie’s departure would leave the door open for the German forward to take the Dutchman’s shirt.
Manchester United and Manchester City are fighting over Van Persie, who has a year left on his contract but has made it clear he will not sign a new deal with Arsenal.
